| Abstract: | BTCT Engineers are proposing a light rail line connecting the Delaware Avenue waterfront with the Philadelphia International Airport. As designed, our proposed route serves two functions. Along the Oregon Avenue corridor it is a local line connecting residents to local businesses. After leaving Oregon Avenue, the line becomes a high-mobility line with infrequent stops, thus allowing people to get to the airport and surrounding businesses quickly and efficiently. This route will provide South Philadelphia with an effective transportation system, which should increase public transportation usage, thus decreasing traffic congestion along the proposed route. |
